There are 3 basic units of Sid Meier's Colonization, resource gatherers, resource manufacturers and artillery units. Thus, they must collect goods, food, harvest stocks and make the economy grow. The player is required to make the new civilization productive. The player can go to a certain nation, collect and trade goods to this colony and afterwards, go back to Europe and gather more colonists. On the other hand with the New World map, player can choose from different stories and features. On American Map, the player can start with two ships travelling towards the Indian country. These are American map and New World map. There are two maps available in Sid Meier's Colonization. Each nation has its unique abilities and strengths which gives either advantage or disadvantages. Other nations will be controlled by the AI computer. The theme of the game was inspired by the European colonization from the timeline of 1492, wherein the player will choose from different nations such as Spain, Netherlands and France. It is a strategy game where the player must come up with a plan so his civilization can win against other rival civilizations, which are controlled by the computer.
